A weekend ago my friend and I ventured a visit the Mercer Museum and Fonthill Castle located in Doylestown, PA which gives one a look into Henry Mercer's unique architecture and artistic vision. We didn't exactly know what to expect. However, it turned out to be an interesting visit. In brief Mercer spent the last 20 years of his life building and living in Fonthill Castle. I must say that it was worth the time to see its unique structure built entirely out of concrete and recycled building materials. By all means join the tour of the castle and visit the museum. The castle and museum are locate a short drive from each other. Plenty of parking. Unfortunately no picture taking is allowed inside the castle. Only on the grounds. However, you can take pictures inside the museum. Here is a sampling of pictures that I took with my mirrorless camera! Enjoy.
